1.LED chip quality
The LED chip type has a high temperature range. For example, CREE XHP50 is around 150℃(302℉) Max, another cheap LED may be 120℃(248℉) Max, if the power is the same, the operating temperature is more than 110℃(230℉) then the other one will burn easily . Therefore, LED chips of well-known brands or companies must be used.
In addition, the highest quality LED chips will greatly slow down the lighting decay process, keeping the headlight bulbs super bright.
2. LED headlight power supply
More wattage input, more brightness from the LED chips, also means more heat. Therefore, it is very important to keep the wattage within a reasonable range. In our experience, the maximum reasonable wattage for fan cooled headlight bulbs is about 40 watts/bulb.
3. Efficient LED thermal cooling capacity.
Efficient LED heat dissipation is a very important factor, which depends on a reasonable design. In this part, TRENT has a lot of experience to share.
A. Contact ratio between LED and PCB board.
The larger the contact area, the higher the cooling efficiency. The picture below is the LED chip we inspected by X-ray. Nearly 100% area contact (with special high-tech welding process). That's why TRENT products are always durable and super long-lasting.
B. Use the best thermal conductivity metal (such as copper) as the core component (such as LED PCB board).
This ensures that a lot of heat can be dissipated from the LED chips. Even though it will cost more, but it is worth it, all TRENT LED headlight conversion kits are made of copper PCB board.

C. Cooling section shape design is also important.
Large aluminum parts require sufficient size and heat dissipation area. Without this, the heat cannot be dissipated quickly, and the high temperature can damage the LED chip. However, too large parts will increase the difficulty of installation, and the assembly space of the whole vehicle is limited.
D. For LED headlight bulbs with ribbons, such as copper, aluminum.
Easier installation due to smaller size. However, we recommend that you install it according to the guidance of an experienced hand, and make sure that the ribbon is spread out as much as possible. If you install it in an improper way, the heat will be difficult to release, and the LED will easily burn out.
E. The cooling fan is the main factor affecting the life of LED headlight bulbs with fans.
